WASHINGTON, D.C., June 15, 2026 – On April 29, 2026, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) filed a complaint against Anthony Agueda d/b/a AMA Enterprise of Stevenson, Calif., for alleged violations of the Packers and Stockyards (P&S) Act.
A USDA investigation revealed between August 2023 and January 2024, Agueda engaged in the business of a dealer buying 3,252 head of livestock in the amount of $652,319 for immediate resale without maintaining bond coverage and failed to pay $377,393 for livestock purchases, in violation of the P&S Act. As of the date of the complaint, $329,175 remained unpaid.
In addition, between December 2023 and January 2024, Agueda issued seven nonsufficient funds checks totaling $149,707 in payment for livestock purchases, in violation of the P&S Act.
The Secretary of Agriculture has authority to take action against violators, including issuing cease and desist orders, suspending registrations and imposing other remedies authorized by the P&S Act.
