The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees for the Far West Spearmint Oil Administrative Committee to fill seats for three members and three alternates for two-year terms, beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
The committee will accept nominations at the following meetings for each district:
- District 1, Position 2 – State of Washington, one member and one alternate.
- Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at 61311 US Highway 97 in Toppenish, Washington
- District 1, Position 4 – State of Washington, one member and one alternate.
- Tuesday September 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at 905 Yakima Valley Highway in Sunnyside, Washington
- District 2, Position 2 – State of Idaho and the portion of the States of Nevada and Utah included in the production area, one member and one alternate.
- Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at 2007 N. Cassia St. in Nampa, Idaho

To qualify, nominate, and vote as a producer member, nominees must be engaged in a proprietary capacity in the production of spearmint oil in the district for which selected.
The committee is comprised of eight members. Seven members represent producers and one serves as a public member. More information about the committee is available on the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Far West Spearmint Oil webpage.
Authorized by the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937, marketing orders are industry-driven programs that help growers and handlers achieve marketing success by leveraging their own funds to design and execute programs that they would not be able to do individually. AMS provides oversight to fruit, vegetable and specialty crop marketing orders and agreements to help ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.
